Seven girls have been arrested by the Tirana Police, accused of practicing prostitution. According to data, among the arrested are two Ukrainian citizens and five Chinese citizens, who were carrying out the activity in rented apartments.
The police intervention came after verifications on the use of various residential premises for this purpose. During the operation, several apartments where prostitution was practiced were identified and the persons involved were detained.
Investigations show that the activity was organized in a structured manner, while the premises were rented for short periods to avoid suspicion.
In parallel, five other people are being investigated at large. These are the owners of the three rented apartments and two people who are suspected of benefiting from this activity.
"The Trafficking Investigation Section is finalizing other phases of the operation codenamed "Network", against exploitation for prostitution and the practice of this activity.
3 more apartments where prostitution was practiced are discovered.
7 citizens are arrested (2 cohabitants, for exploitation for prostitution and 5 citizens from China and Ukraine, for practicing prostitution).
5 citizens are under investigation (2 beneficiaries of this activity and the owners of the 3 rented apartments).
Following the controls and operational work, to identify and crack down on cases of renting apartments in various areas of the capital, to practice prostitution, specialists from the Trafficking Investigation Section finalized 2 phases of the "Network" operation, during which the following citizens were arrested:
-SZ, 33 years old and ON, 22 years old (Ukrainian citizen), cohabitants, after allegedly exploiting for prostitution, in an apartment rented daily, on "Njazi Demi" street, the Ukrainian citizen, AH, 23 years old, who was arrested for the criminal offense of "Prostitution";
-LM, 57 years old, L. Sh., 39 years old, Sh. R., 47 years old and Zh. P., 37 years old, all Chinese citizens, after practicing prostitution, in 2 apartments in the "Vasil Shanto" area and on "Vangjush Furxhi" street.
Further, following the procedural actions in these cases, proceedings have been initiated against 5 citizens, including the owners of 3 rented apartments and 2 citizens who benefited from this illegal activity.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
