Did the majority sell Ahmetaj? Pigeon: We do not act as anyone's lawyer, we

The deputy of the Socialist Party, Arben Pëllumbi, after leaving the meeting of the Council of Mandates, declared that the Socialist Party will prepare a report that will be sent to the Speaker of the Assembly, regarding the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK), for the arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister, Arben Ahmetaj.

He added that if the procedure followed for the request for arrest turns out to be regular, the Socialist Party will not become Ahmetaj's lawyer.

"We have to hand it over to the Speaker of the Assembly, who will then pass it on to the plenary session. It was discussed and I believe the president will decide that on Monday at 17:00, we will have a special session where this point will be discussed. We must understand that the Council for Mandates and Regulation is neither a court nor has the authority to judge. We judge there only whether the procedure for granting this right requested by the prosecuting body has been implemented or not and whether or not there are facts that prove that our colleague has political influences or there are other problems for which the constitution gives him protection.

As long as we are convinced that the procedure is regular and there are no facts to prove that there is an excess for the removal of immunity, of course we have our position not to act as anyone's lawyer", he emphasized .
