The leader of the "Albania Becomes" party, Adriatik Lapaj, has spoken about the proposal to reduce the number of MPs, considering it a red line for them.
Lapaj considered the SP's idea of reducing the number of Assembly members to 100, a propaganda manipulation.
" Directly after the May 11 elections, representatives of Albania's friendly countries called a meeting, where they requested that the problem of the electoral code be addressed, immediately after the elections. It is not the initiative of a party, it is a meeting in which it was requested. In these elections that we went through, the system was clearly cracking in many ways.
The system is also related to the missing medicines, it is also related to the chaos we see every day.
We must bear in mind that we, the parties involved in the process, have political opponents, but on the other hand it is a national responsibility. The red line for us is 100 mandates. Reducing the number of Assembly members to 100 is propaganda manipulation. They removed Rama's plane and they have doubled the expenses , "said Lapaj.
The DP and the SP are discussing electoral reform. The opposition has floated the idea of reviewing the electoral system, while the SP wants to reduce the number of MPs to 100.
