The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has intensified his accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama during a speech he delivered at the "Pulpit" in front of the Prime Minister's Office. He accuses Rama of "state capture" and massive corruption.
In his speech, Berisha declared that any illegally obtained property will be confiscated and that, according to him, the prime minister will face criminal consequences.
"Edi Rama, you have your calculations wrong. You have stolen a lot. Every asset you have in your hands will be taken away and you will be returned to prison for years," he said.
Berisha described the protest as a "peaceful uprising," emphasizing that the opposition has chosen this form of reaction to the government.
He greeted the youth and students who participated in the February 10 protest, calling them "the horror of the drug regime."
The former prime minister also condemned the violence against protesters and warned that the prime minister himself would be responsible for any incident.
"For any personal violation, there will be only one person responsible, Edvin Kristaq Rama," declared Berisha, also addressing the law enforcement agencies not to be influenced by "bandits in the leadership."
Berisha then called for mass participation in the February 20 protest, calling it a "day of pride" and a moment to confront the anti-Albanian regime.
