Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that he emphasized that the Summit of the Berlin Process, which was held this Monday in Tirana, has opened a path that will be wider next year.
At the closing conference of the Berlin Process summit, Rama answered the journalists' question whether 2030 is too far for Albania's EU membership.
In his answer, Rama said that one can talk about deadlines all day, but according to him the main thing is the fact that something has changed with the EU, in its approach to the Western Balkans, which according to him is the opening to the expansion towards the Western Balkans.
The Prime Minister added that now is the time to do the tasks given and to make possible the advancement of Albania towards the European family.
" We can talk about how long the process of integration can be, how torturous and tiring this path can be... but we are attentive to every movement, every smile, every look of the leaders I have by my side. Earlier, we looked at the EU countries, some were positive and some were skeptical, but this has changed a lot, the summit has brought extraordinary results. Even this conference and what is being said today is new and positive. The EU is opening up even more to EU member states by agreeing to take extra steps.
Something fundamental has changed. Ok we can talk about deadlines but since the Russian attack happened something has changed fundamentally. Today it has a totally different spirit. The EU is ready to take steps towards the membership of the countries of the Western Balkans. No more places to multitask, be a good student and then come back with a 'very good' or 'bad result'. It's very different now. I am very optimistic about this approach. This Commission is changing the things that were unimaginable for us 2 years ago ", said Rama, among other things.
