The leader of the "Albania Becomes" Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, has commented on developments within the coalition he represents, regarding the issue of the deputy's mandate.
Lapaj told News24 that as the most voted candidate on the "Albania Becomes" list, he had requested that the mandate be passed to the woman with the most votes after him, in order to respect the citizen's will and the principles of transparency.
He said that this request required the resignation of Endrit Shabani and Pano Sokos from the representation lists. The leader of Albania Becomes expressed disappointment with the developments within the movement and asked for a public apology.
"I encountered resistance from Mr. Shabani, not from Mr. Soko. Mr. Shabani told me that he had made a public promise and was not backing down. I said: 'Okay, I will represent the 64 thousand people who voted for us at the national level'. I want to apologize to every person who voted for us and every citizen who expected to support us for this ugliness that is happening," said Lapaj.
