The Investigative Commission begins its work for two concessions in Health, 4

After a battle of several months in the Assembly for the establishment of Investigative Commissions, the Commission for Health Concessions started its work today.

President Albana Vokshi called at 11:00 a.m. the first meeting of the Commission, which during 4 months will conduct the parliamentary investigation of two concessions granted in health: Sterilization and Check-Up, both under investigation by the justice bodies.

The meeting started with debates between the leader of the opposition, Albana Vokshi, and the vice president, Plarent Ndreca.

Vokshi said that these two commissions are abusive, while Ndreca asked not to make party statements but to implement the Constitution, as they have gathered to investigate and cannot come to conclusions until the work is done.

Vokshi: It is seen as a tool to highlight the situation in the health sector. According to the reports, the situation is aggravated with shortages in medicines, cures, no possibility to perform analysis and surgical intervention in some cases. Albanians pay about 60% of the health service out of pocket. I am telling him that Albanians are no longer receiving public health services, they cannot receive them because of the 4 concessions that have been granted and have turned into black pits. They reach the value of 200 million euros, if we refer to the two signed contracts.

Ndreca: Let's go and continue the conference. Let's go

Voskhi: Please close. If you're going to start like this...

Ndreca: Have we gathered to constitute?

Voskhi: I am explaining to the public what this commission is, why it was convened and what it should deal with. Do not worry

Ndreca: I'm not worried, you can do it every time.

Vokshi: Don't interfere with me before the commission starts properly. I am informing you what it is and I will go directly to the agenda.

Vokshi: The value of the two concessions exceeds 200 million euros. As from the check up and sterilization, from all the citizens, the experts have proven to have been unnecessary and abusive. It is corruption at the highest levels of government. I hope you don't become a shield of this corruption and use your cards against the public interest.

Ndreca: Referring to the statements, it is clear that you have prejudiced the activity, if you continue to conclude before the work of the commission has started, you have violated the constitutional principle of non-prejudice in an issue, which is the reason why we were set up to investigate. If we continue with partisan statements while we are here to carry out a due process, we have started on the wrong foot. Please respect the constitutional principles.
