Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party of Albania, Myslim Murrizi, commenting on the internal situation in the Democratic Party, expressed criticism of the functioning of the opposition.
Murrizi stated that the opposition has begun to strengthen, but according to him, it is expected to be more courageous after the National Assembly. He stated that there should be departures of persons whom he described as nihilists and hypocrites, adding that some deputies, according to him, have not been present in the areas where they were elected and do not enjoy the reputation that an opposition representative should have.
Murrizi also raised questions about what he said was the lack of a strong reaction from the opposition, hinting at the possibility of underground political bargaining, while adding that political leaders should be more active on the ground. He also stressed that opposition protests should not be organized only in Tirana, but also in other cities in the country, in order to increase, according to him, political involvement and pressure.
"Fate smiles on the courageous. The opposition has started to become more courageous, but I expect it to become more courageous after the National Assembly, removing a part of nihilists and hypocrites who know nothing else, have not stepped foot in the areas they were elected to for a year and do not enjoy the reputation that an opposition MP should have. Why should they be afraid when they have not been in power for 13 years/ Do they have underground deals? Why don't political leaders go? We don't have to hold such protests only in Tirana," he said for the show This Week on News24.
