The two candidates of the opposition "Alliance for a Greater Albania" who had requested a recount of votes after claiming vote theft have 24 hours to file a request from the electoral subjects for an appeal.
For Aulon Kalana, who was a candidate in the Durrës district, the Legality Movement party will appeal, which had filed a request with the Complaints and Sanctions Commission this Tuesday, since as a candidate, the complaint cannot be considered.
" I call this a small victory today, the Legality Movement addressed the CEC with a request, joining my request. The Legality Movement party is connected because it is in coalition with the Democratic Party and has legitimacy, given that it supported my candidacy in the Durrës district. We have presented evidence, we are convinced that electoral crime has occurred, it is now up to them to open the boxes and show us with facts so that we can see what happened. Vote distortions have occurred ," Kalaja said for Top Channel.
Meanwhile, candidate Asllan Dogjani, who is requesting a recount of votes for the Tirana district, says that he has received authorization from the Democratic Party to appeal and that this electoral subject will need to submit a request to the KAS for a recount within 24 hours.
" I received authorization from the party, but they have made an interpretation of the Electoral Code, which requires the party to be a party to the complaint in the request for counting the candidates' votes. In the Kamza and Paskuqan CEAZs alone, there are about 2,800 invalid votes ," said Dogjani.
Meanwhile, KAS has decided that on Wednesday 4 ballot boxes in the Vlora Region will be verified, as the Democratic Party claims that 130 ballots are missing. At Tuesday's meeting, ballot box number 4494 in CEAZ 85 was opened, as the Albania Becomes Initiative claimed that there were ballots in this box that did not have two seals, that of the Voting Center and the CEAZ. But, after the box was opened, no ballot was found to lack both seals.
