The Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, delivered his speech amidst the created noise.
Peleshi stated that he will continue to perform his duties impartially and added that Albania is now in a new phase, as it pertains to the EU membership process.
According to Pelesh, the country's integration requires a broad consensus. The opposition caused chaos in the hall.
"As Speaker of the Assembly, I will continue to exercise my duty impartially. Europe has been the main focus of our activity, Albania is in a new phase, from an integration process to a membership process. This requires broad consensus. Our objective is clear, the conclusion of technical negotiations in 2027. The Assembly keeps the constitutional balances alive. Support for justice remains unwavering. The session we start today, the first agenda of European integration, parliamentary diplomacy, stronger oversight, an open assembly, 24/7. A large volume of work awaits us, it is a privilege and a responsibility, to bring Albania closer to Europe. The Assembly must be more European in ethics. I wish you good work and success in this parliamentary section" , emphasized Peleshi.
