The Democratic Party held its next national protest yesterday, also in the context of the 35th anniversary of the toppling of the statue of dictator Enver Hoxha.
Regarding this, DP MP Jorida Tabaku stated that the protests are necessary to show the anger of citizens, but that she emphasized the fact that after 12 years in opposition, the DP must reinvent itself and change.
"The DP must try to reinvent itself, we are in our 4th term in opposition and it is not easy, many things have changed. I am one of those people who see the problem in myself. But the protest is a way to react that the anger and opposition are there. Yesterday was a symbolic day, it is a message that no matter how much oppression there is, the light is there. The DP must correct itself and offer with all its strength an alternative governance model because people expect this. It is very easy today to be in the dark with the DP. I believed in meritocracy and it did not work for me. I also spoke to the doctor. But is the way to go out and throw stones and criticize? The way is to change. All colleagues agree that the DP must change internally. I can say that today I have a lot to do in the structures of the DP", she said in "This Week".
