Lawyer Indrit Sefa considers the DP's request for a caretaker government an amnesty for Edi Rama, emphasizing that the opposition must get ready to face the elections.
Sefa raised the question of how the DP can attack Edi Rama tomorrow, having him as a partner in the government. The lawyer also said that it remains to be discussed whether the DP is an alternative with Sali Berisha at the head of the party.
" Elections are held between two alternatives. Of course, the majority is at its lowest point today, it is in an alarming situation, there has never been a majority in such a situation to face the elections. But the fact is that when citizens come and vote, they see two names there, they see two candidates for prime minister and this is the discussion. Of course, before the opposition is blamed... the entire public discourse is about the opposition being a real alternative for Albanian citizens. Is it an alternative today? This remains to be discussed. There are people who say that it is an alternative. This has been proven in the last elections and it came out with the result that it came out. I don't see the fact that it received 510 thousand votes more, but more alarming is the fact that 230 thousand citizens remained without voting from the 2023 elections to 2025 ," the lawyer said on A2CNN.
According to him, the caretaker government is an amnesty granted to Edi Rama. It gives him breathing space and for a year you enable Albanian citizens to forget him, he added.
" How are you going to attack Edi Rama when you have a partner in government?! Before you came, I would say, he was corrupt, but now he is no longer and you will hold elections in a year and we will enter the elections together as opponents, but this one was corrupt a year ago?! " said Indrit Sefa.
