Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a meeting with farmers in Elbasan, stated that the government's support for the development of entrepreneurship is not enough. According to him, farmers should 'pressure' municipalities to take full responsibility for the development of the village.
Rama sent a signal to the mayors that they should be on the land together with those who work the land.
"It is no longer up to the will and power of the government to support the growth of entrepreneurship in government, but it is the lack of an active entrepreneurship in search of funds with the right projects and the right formulas. These things are done with the right alliances and for this reason, is the rector of UBT, we are here to give you the necessary assistance to move forward much faster. Together, the government and you must put municipalities under positive pressure, to push them to take over all the responsibility that belongs to them regarding the development of the village. Mayors of municipalities after the territorial administrative reform are equivalent guardians of both the city and the village, but still today in most cases they see the village to do the municipal works of the city. These are important, but the most important thing in the village is the land that produces and they are those who are on the land. The municipality must be there on the land with those who work the land.
"Make sure that there is no shortage of money for investment projects and the necessary transformations for your farms. I want these years to be the years of creating joint ventures between the local government and farmers. Enterprises that work and that bring more income to you, not to us, nor to the government nor to the municipality," said Rama.
