During the closing speech of the Socialist Parliamentary Group meeting, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that he will no longer wait for the opposition to approve the necessary laws for advancing and closing chapters with the EU.
He said that the Socialist Party will never, for any reason, close the door to cooperation with the opposition and that they are welcome to offer their opinions whenever they want. But according to Rama, the opposition is not interested in the country joining the EU, as they are busy giving Albania a bad name in Europe.
"Our work does not wait. It would be the icing on the cake if others were interested in doing the work for the country and for membership in the European Union. They are not interested, but are committed to conveying abroad the idea that this country is a narco-state, while inside they are organized only to hinder."
We will not wait for anyone for any reason to continue our work. Anyone who wants to cooperate or sit down for dialogue is welcome. For everything else, the roads are divided: we go ahead, they go behind. What they do is just “barking the dog ”, said Rama.
