The American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, stated that he expects real progress from Pristina and Belgrade in the implementation of the basic agreement resulting from the dialogue, as he reminded the parties of the obligations that await them in the dialogue during 2024. He also emphasized that the process should be concluded with mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.
The American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, in his address at the end of the year, said that despite all the obstacles, the commitment to the implementation of the Brussels agreements will not stop.
" In 2024 we hope to see consistent progress, including Serbia taking significant steps to fulfill all its obligations under this agreement, as well as Kosovo also fulfilling its obligations, including moving towards the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority. Ultimately, this normalization process culminates in mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, as both countries seek to fulfill their journey towards the EU. The implementation of the basic agreement and the implementation annex represents a big step towards that future ", said Hovenier.
