The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received the ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffrey Hovenier, in a meeting this Thursday, where they discussed the dialogue with Serbia.
During the meeting, it was learned that Osmani made it clear that the draft statute of the Association, presented by the European Union, should first go to the Constitutional Court for consideration.
The meeting also discussed the latest news from the dialogue process with Serbia, where Osmani, according to the announcement of the Presidency, emphasized that Kosovo has consistently been a constructive party, while Serbia continues with the selective approach that prevents the full implementation of the Brussels agreement and annex of Ohrid.
" President Osmani once again underlined the importance of close cooperation with the USA in order to achieve progress in the dialogue process ", the announcement states.
In the meeting with the European leaders in Brussels, Prime Minister Kurti has accepted the new "modern" plan of the EU for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, which also includes the draft of the Association, but this has been rejected by the Serbian side.
