The former Croatian president, Stipe Mesic, declared that the Serbian aggression in Banjska i Zvecani was prepared and some Serbian institutions were also part of it. Of the latter, he adds that the terrorist group was equipped for provocation and war.
In an interview for KosovaPress, he criticized the European Union for its approach and attitudes after September 24. The man who led Croatia for a decade as president positively evaluates the actions taken by Kosovar institutions, as he considers that this situation would produce even more victims.
The former president of Croatia says that Kosovo is a state and everyone should understand this fact.
"I think that the whole world should understand that Kosovo is a fact, that Kosovo is a state and that all states have the same rights and the same relations with Kosovo, so one fact must be recognized, that in Serbia they still do not recognize Kosovo, this is a problem that the leadership of Serbia has set for itself. Therefore, Serbia does not have to recognize Kosovo, the whole world will recognize Kosovo, but Serbia does not need to, but must allow the movement of people, the movement of capital, the movement of ideas, so it must allow communication with the world" . he declares.
After the Serbian aggression in Banjska of Zveçan, where the police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed, Mesic considers that Kosovo should continue the dialogue.
"Yes, of course, Kosovo has always shown interest in everything being resolved peacefully, diplomatically and in this sense, I think that Kosovo will continue to have the same views, so the Government of Kosovo, those who lead in Kosovo , they lead a European policy and in this sense they should also understand the facts in Serbia and decide according to those facts" , he adds.
The Croatian politician says that last week in Zagreb he met with the head of state, Vjosa Osmani, where he emphasizes that she has a realistic approach to European politics.
The same assessments are not available for the countries of the bloc, where he emphasizes that the leadership of the European Union is making a mistake.
"I believe that it does not lead European politics, the European Union does not lead European politics sufficiently. It pays more attention to what America means and not to what is in the interest of Europe and in this sense I think that the leadership of the European Union is wrong because Europe should lead politics, European politics, the European Union should lead European politics", declared Mesiq.
Commenting on the aggression of the Serbian terrorist group in Banjska of Zveçan, he emphasized that he was prepared and that some institutions are also involved.
"So, when one day it is analyzed, and there is reason to talk about it, it was not excess, this was prepared and several institutions participated in this, which can bring people armed with equipment, that is, equipment for war, bombs, with heavy machine guns, armored vehicles, so everything was prepared for a big provocation to raise the people from the surroundings, for them to react and then Serbia appears as the one that will solve things, and in fact it is politics Serbia which wants to integrate a part of Kosovo in its territory", adds Mesiq.
After the aggression of September 24 in the north of the country, where sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed, the former Croatian president positively comments on the actions taken by Kosovo's institutions.
"This can be said to be a difficult situation, in a difficult provocation, both the government and its president have taken all the necessary measures. In their actions, the institutions of Kosovo acted according to European standards and I congratulate them for not allowing this challenge to cause greater victims... Serbia has taken many measures that the world can criticize, namely in Serbia those terrorists who attacked the institutions are honored of Kosovo, who attacked Kosovo. So, they died in a terrorist attack and Serbia honors them as victims of Albanian politics, so they did everything to do the wrong thing", concludes Mesiq.
