Kidnapping and rape of Serb by army forces, lawyer accuses Belgrade: Attempts

Milan Vukašinović is in serious condition in a hospital in Niš, after being attacked under still unclear circumstances in the village of Jelakce, within the territory of Kosovo.

His lawyer, Ivan Ninić, says that the Serbian state is trying to hide the case and is demanding answers from Belgrade institutions, which have so far not provided clarification.

According to Ninić, Vukašinović was shot by members of Serbian security forces – possibly the army or police – while his vehicle was found in an inaccessible area of the Leposavic municipality.

“They kidnapped him and took him to Serbia. This was an action organized by Serbian security structures,” the lawyer said. Kosovo institutions confirm that the attack was carried out by several masked individuals who entered Kosovo territory and then transported Vukashinovic to Niš.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

Journalist Andrija Lazarevic points out that the information about the case is contradictory: while lawyer Ninic accuses Serbian security structures, the Kosovo Police and the Serbian Security Agency (BIA) give different versions of the event. Serbian pro-government media present Vukashinovic as a “Kosovo spy”, reporting that the BIA has arrested several people in the Raška area on suspicion of espionage.

Lawyer Ninic links this case to the events of September 2023 in Banjska and warns that the situation may have gotten out of control. He has filed a criminal complaint against unknown persons from the Serbian army or police, as well as against Milan Radoicic, with whom Vukasinovic had previous clashes. After publishing this information, Ninic has received threats from a Telegram group called “Koridor”, which is suspected of having links to the BIA and Milan Radoicic.
