Cesar Azpilicueta

Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta has announced his retirement from playing football, ending a long and successful career that spanned nearly 20 years.

The news was made public by the 36-year-old himself through a post on the social network "Instagram", where he expressed his gratitude to all the clubs he has played for during his career, as well as to the Spanish National Team, with which he recorded 44 official matches.

Azpilicueta began his professional career at Osasuna, before moving to France to Olympique de Marseille. The most important period of his career was with Chelsea, where he became one of the team's main figures and even held the captain's armband.

With the London club's jersey, the Spanish defender played over 500 matches and won a series of major trophies, including two Premier League championship titles, a Champions League and two Europa League trophies.

After his adventure in England, Azpilicueta returned to Spain, where he wore the Atletico Madrid jersey, while he spent his last season at Sevilla, the club where he decided to end his career as a professional footballer.
