Al Itihad, the team where Albanian defender Mario Mitaj plays, has secured qualification for the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League, after a minimal 1-0 victory over Al Wahda. The match was decided after only 120 minutes of play, thanks to a penalty converted into a goal in the additional minutes of extra time, where 10 minutes of extra time were also granted.
One of the protagonists of the challenge was Mario Mitaj, who put in an impressive performance for Al Itihad. The Albanian national team defender started the match as a starter and was ranked as the second most valued player on the field, with a rating of 7.7.
The highest rating went to Brazilian midfielder Fabinho, who was rated 8.2 and was the author of the only goal that decided the fate of the match. On the left wing of defense, Mitaj stood out for his calmness in possession of the ball, precision in actions in tight areas and determination in individual duels, proving to be a strong point for his team.
After the match, Mitaj also reacted on social media. In a post on Instagram, he wrote: " A hard-fought and well-deserved victory. On to the next one. Thanks for the wonderful support, Tigers ."
