The High Prosecutorial Council met this Monday, October 20, at 10:00 to assess whether the four prosecutors who have expressed interest in taking over the leadership of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) meet the legal criteria for this position.
At this meeting, a list of 4 candidates for the new head of SPAK was approved. The candidates are Adnan Xholi, Doloreza Musabelli, Elvin Gokaj and Klodian Braho.
"There are 4 candidates in the race, they must be SPAK prosecutors, not be managers, have presented a platform and have no disciplinary measures. All four candidates meet the conditions to compete to be the head of SPAK: Adnan Xholi, Doloreza Musabelli, Elvin Gokaj and Klodian Braho," said Sokol Stojani, chairman of the career development commission at KLP.
Candidates Adnan Xholi, Klodian Braho, Doloreza Musabelliu and Ervin Gogaj are all part of the current SPAK structure and are expected to move on to the public interview phase, an open process that will include an assessment of their career, integrity, leadership skills and vision for the future of the institution.
This process begins on the eve of the end of the three-year mandate of the current head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, who leaves on December 18. During his leadership, SPAK has been at the center of attention for sensational investigations against senior officials and structured criminal groups.
After verifying the documentation and fulfilling the legal conditions, the KLP will conduct interviews with each of them to select Altin Dumani's successor at the head of SPAK.
