The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, held meetings today with the staff of the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat, the Department of Public Security, the deputy directors for Order in the regions and the heads of the Road Traffic Sectors.
Hita has requested special attention and commitment from all managers and employees, with the aim of increasing road safety parameters and preventing any abusive acts in the field.
"No more stopping vehicles on national highways without cause, but use technology, police scanners, speed cameras and drones, as technology is the future. Administrative measures produced by these tools should be implemented in the system within a day ," he said.
Hita also requested rigorous control with working groups and action plans in urban centers, for incorrect parking, incorrect maneuvers, noise generated by modified mufflers, driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated, and for any violation that poses a traffic hazard and a risk to the safety of road users. Some other points for which he gave instructions were the tourist season, road safety near schools and in schools.
