The closure of the Tirana-Durrës highway has brought chaos to the country's roads. In addition to the kilometer-long traffic on the secondary road Vorë-Maminas, heavy traffic has also been created on the Tirana-Elbasan axis. Many citizens who had to go to Durrës or vice versa, have moved from Elbasan. But the high flow has caused this axis to be blocked as well.
Meanwhile, the police reacted a little earlier and no one is taking measures to find a solution. The police asked for patience.
" Due to the temporary closure of the Tirana-Durres highway, for work reasons, announced on 10.10.2025, by the Albanian Road Authority, heavy traffic has been created in several areas within the capital, as well as at its entrance and exit.
Traffic Police Services and General Patrols are located at every intersection and main road segment, with the aim of managing and facilitating traffic.
"Tirana Police appeals to drivers to show patience, respect road signs and instructions from Police officers, and use alternative routes to avoid traffic delays ," the police announced.
