Minister of Defense, Pirro Vëngu, spoke about the situation created by the bad weather in our country.
Vengu stated that the most serious situation is in the municipalities of Lezhë, Kurbin, Durrës and Krujë, where the emergency services and the Armed Forces are deployed.
Currently, 50 homes have been affected by water in these areas, while only one of them was evacuated. The minister added that the structures will remain on standby until November 22.
" In Thumanë there was a complex situation with the stability of the embankments, but thanks to the interventions we have a more stabilized situation. We have forces on the ground and as we have seen we have a front that we expected to continue in Kurbin and Lezha, but the flows have created an effect in Krujë and Durrës. The forces have been distributed to all axes of the country. Maintenance companies are on standby and will remain throughout the evening. The management of the Drini cascade continues. Lezha, Kurbin, Durrës and Krujë, these are the 4 municipalities where we are currently focused. The waters have penetrated several homes. 50 homes have been affected by the water, there are no evacuations. One family has been evacuated in Kurbin. We have deployed the Armed Forces to be near the residents.
The situation was warned and a good part of the municipalities reacted in time. Most of the urban areas have resisted. Drainage channels and collectors have been opened and this has helped a lot. In Laç we have the largest concentration of FA. In the Vlora and Gjirokastër districts there have been problems with the wind. There has been a suspension of port activity. In the north, the port area has continued normally. We have a situation in Bistrica, which has had an impact on Finiq. The state of alert will continue until November 22" , Vengu told A2 CNN.
