Authorities indicate that the coming hours are expected to be dynamic in terms of managing the situation, while emphasizing the maximum commitment of structures on the ground.
Minister Vengu announced that support with additional funds has been requested, for which there was an immediate reaction from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Providing an overview of the current situation, Vengu emphasized that there are army forces deployed in Kurbin, as the area most affected by the rainfall and damage caused so far, while other troops have also been deployed in Lezha to prevent possible deterioration.
According to him, interventions are also being made in three areas where bridges have suffered damage and pose a danger.
Heavy rainfall and flows from mountain streams have caused problems in the Municipality of Lezha, requiring the intervention of civil emergency teams.
As a safety measure, 4 families in Zejme, whose homes are below the level of the drainage canals and were consequently flooded, were evacuated, and these families were sheltered in the vocational school dormitory in the city of Lezha.
A complicated situation arises in the "Sake" neighborhood, a depressed area where several homes are currently surrounded by water.
Because the area has protected status, the Municipality's interventions require the approval of the Ministry, making immediate management difficult.
The situation in the Kallmet Administrative Unit also remains worrying, where the reservoir has reached its maximum point due to high inflows. Problems have also been recorded in Dragushë and Dajç, where high water channels pose a risk if the rainfall continues with intensity.
In Kurbin, the area most affected by the floods, only one family was evacuated in the village of Gjorm, while in Mirdita the situation appears calmer, with problems limited to some rural roads where landslides and the presence of inert materials have been noted. Interventions carried out during the day have stabilized the situation.
The Director of the Regional Directorate of Irrigation and Drainage announced that the hydropower plants are operating at full capacity. Teams have intervened in the drainage canals of Kurbin and the high water canals of Zadrima, helping to prevent the situation from worsening.
OSHEE reported power outages in several areas during the morning, but technical interventions have made it possible to restore supply to all areas.
The Lezha Local Police Directorate has increased patrols and monitoring on problematic axes, to limit the movement of vehicles and guarantee the safety of citizens.
Also in the Shkodra region, rainfall continues with mainly average and occasionally high intensity.
The FA teams have been working all day to open the Theth-Breg Lumi road, but were unable to due to darkness, so the work will resume tomorrow morning.
The biggest problems are reported to be in the electricity supply. In Malësi e Madhe, a damaged electricity pole is reported, while OSHEE teams are working to repair the pole.
There is also a lack of electricity in the Koplik, Bajzë, Vukpalaj and 35 kV substations.
