Ilir Pashaj does not go to SPAK and GJKKO for the first time, as there were other corruption files against him, for which he was even convicted.
In January 2024, Ilir Pashaj was sentenced by GJKKO to 1 year and 4 months in prison after taking a bribe of 400,000 lek, to reduce the sentence of prisoner Xuliano Musai, accused of wounding, by 6 months. He would give the money to his former colleague, the judge of the court of Elbasan, Zamira Vyshka, who in this trial was sentenced to 2 years of probation and the removal of the right to exercise public functions, for a period of 3 years.
SPAK interceptions and observations revealed judge Zamira Vyshka and lawyer Ilir Pashaj who were arrested in July 2022 for bribery and corruption in the court of Elbasan
Pashaj was a judge of Elbasan, i.e. a colleague of the former judge Zamira Vyshka, and at the time when the Vetting processes against him started, he resigned.
On 10.02.2017, the KLD, after receiving the request for resignation, decided the end of his mandate as a judge. In these circumstances, the Independent Qualification Commission in 2018 closed its investigations against him.
In 2015, Nasip Naço, at that time the Minister of Justice, asked the KLD to proceed and dismiss judge Ilir Pashaj, accusing him of very serious violations of discipline and absolute lack of reasoning in a court decision.
SPAK has already sent the former judge's file for trial to GJKKO for corruption and concealment of assets.
According to SPAK, Pashaj has benefited from movable and immovable assets which are the product of the criminal offense of corruption. The case that SPAK refers to is about a decision that the judge gave in 2009 to issue an execution order for executive titles.
As a judge, Pashaj had to make periodic declarations of assets. But over the years he has hidden a vehicle and has not reflected the real estate, an apartment of 104 square meters which was his but he had registered it in the name of his father-in-law, citizen Sh. B.
SPAK says that Ilir Pashaj has taken care to disguise the irregular benefits obtained due to his duty as a judge in the name of others (father-in-law and brother-in-law), hiding the true owner and source of these assets.
