According to the Greek media, Rama did not hesitate to talk about the terrible suffering of the Albanians in the Greek state, referring to the name changes.
In his speech, Rama addressed the Albanians:
"Brothers, I received many messages from Albanians in Italy after the red and black dance in the heart of Greece. I was told on more than one occasion when I came to Milan, I must not forget that you have also suffered.
It almost seemed as if you felt excluded from a race of historical pain, almost jealous that the terrible suffering of the Albanians of Greece makes the painful history of the Albanians in Europe and their acceptance more heroic...
You Italian Albanians have not changed. your names, obligatory and widely, as it tragically happened to hundreds and thousands of our brothers and sisters in Greece, for a single and valid reason, which we all know very well.
It is a stain of shame on the history of democratic Europe."
