The Israeli military released a video showing its strikes on Iranian missiles in western Iran.
Israeli authorities and national air carriers are carrying out an urgent withdrawal of civilian aircraft from the potential conflict zone.
On the morning of February 28, 2026, the Israel Airports Authority announced the complete suspension of civilian airport operations amid the launch of Operation Lion's Roar. The country's airspace was completely closed to commercial flights. As part of security protocols, a massive relocation of Israeli aircraft to airports abroad began.
According to monitoring sources and official statements from the carriers, El Al, Arkia and Israir aircraft that were on the ground or in the air at the time of the escalation are being diverted to safe hubs in Europe and the Mediterranean.
The main hubs for Israeli aircraft have become airports in Cyprus (Larnaca) and Greece (Athens). In addition, part of the fleet is being transferred to reserve locations in Eastern European countries.
