The American presidential couple, Donald and Melania Trump, welcomed the British royal couple, King Charles and Queen Camilla, to the White House on the first day of their four-day official visit to the United States.
According to the program, the reception ceremony took place at 4:15 p.m. local time on the South Portico of the White House. After the ceremony, the two couples held an informal meeting over tea in the Green Room.
Afterwards, a short walk was planned in the White House gardens, where they also saw the beehives recently placed on the grounds of the presidential residence.
Monday's program includes a reception in the White House garden.
Meanwhile, from Tuesday, King Charles and President Trump will be joined by a series of official engagements, including a military parade at the White House. King Charles is also expected to deliver a speech to Congress and attend a state dinner with the US president.
