Greek police have arrested members of a criminal group that carried out attacks on patrons of nightclubs in central Athens and also on fans during football matches inside stadiums in various regions of the Greek capital.
During the operation, 8 people were arrested, among them an Albanian, while another Albanian was declared wanted.
They have been charged with dangerous and serious bodily harm committed as part of an organized group, violation of laws on weapons, drugs, fireworks and amateur and professional sports, disruption of public peace, etc.
As it emerged from the investigation, members of the group at least since July 2022 carried out beatings of customers in nightclubs in the center of Athens, while they were also involved in incidents with fans inside the playing fields during football matches.
It was established that they were involved in 2 attacks on customers of nightclubs in the center of Athens, during the months of March and September last year, which resulted in the serious injury of customers, including two policemen, as well as the participation of members of the group in 2 fights between fans during football matches and in February 2024 on playing fields in areas of Athens.
The Albanian Enderik Skënderaj, 35 years old, who was previously arrested for possession of weapons without a permit and drugs, fell into the hands of the police among others.
His name has been mentioned before as being involved in the robbery of the Albanian businessman Tonin Preka in Mykonos, where after he was raped, 40 thousand euros were stolen from him.
Skenderaj was part of a group of 5 Albanians, among whom was Alfons Ndoci, an Albanian with a history of murder.
Meanwhile, the Greek police have announced the search for citizen Fatjon Hysaj, 31 years old, previously arrested for "theft", "abduction of minors" and "trafficking in human beings".
According to "Zougla", Hysaj is suspected to be hiding in Albania, while he is known for his relationship with the businessman Christos Gialias, executed a few days ago in Mandra, Athens.
During the operation, strong items, weapons, drugs and other materials used by the criminal group were seized.
