An assassination attempt was recorded around 30 minutes after midnight in Katund Sukth of Durrës, where Fatjon Dervishi was shot and killed by unidentified persons.
Dervish was in the vehicle with a friend of his, who gave the preliminary testimony before the investigative team.
He stated that when they were returning home, they were shot with machine gun fire. The victim's friend also stated that he was unable to recognize the perpetrators after they were caught by surprise.
"We were in a bar with some friends from the area. After 12 o'clock at night, when we were returning home, where the train tracks are being built, we were shot by machine gun fire. Fatjon got some wounds, but fortunately I was not hurt. I immediately alerted our people and we took him to the hospital, but unfortunately he died because he had lost a lot of blood. I couldn't tell who fired, as we were caught off guard only when we came under machine gun fire. I don't have conflicts with anyone, and as far as I know, Fatjoni didn't either," said the friend in his testimony.
The investigative group suspects that the perpetrators kept the two friends under surveillance and fired a volley of bullets with an automatic machine, at the moment when the victim slowed down due to the damped road.
Arben Meta, a relative and neighbor of the victim, says that he was a positive person. Although he himself has no previous criminal records, the 2 brothers and the victim's father are well-known names to the police.
One of the brothers is serving a sentence in a Spanish prison, after being involved in the trade of narcotics, while his father, Ramazan Dervishi, was previously imprisoned for illegal possession of weapons.
The other brother, Fatbardh Dervishi, surname changed Doda, in January 2022 injured a girl with a pistol in a hotel in Durrës.
Therefore, 2 are the main tracks on which the investigations are focused. One of them is that of revenge, while the other has to do with a business that the victim has in Germany.
There he lived with a Romanian citizen, with whom he was married with fictitious documents, had 2 children and allegedly had an illegal business.
