A surprise search of Durrës prison, conducted this morning, revealed 5 iPhones. The prohibited items were found hidden in the shower doors, which are a common area for all prisoners in building A, 3rd floor, sector 1.
It is suspected that these phones belonged to the convicts Flamur Kapri, Aldo Prifti and Vladimir Ibrushi.
Meanwhile, investigations are continuing to fully clarify the circumstances of the case, with the aim of identifying all responsible persons as well as the manner in which these mobile devices were brought into the prison premises.
"In the early hours of this morning, the operational forces of the General Directorate of Prisons conducted a surprise check at the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions (IEVP) in Durrës.
During the search, five iPhone mobile phones were found, which constitute prohibited items on the institution's premises.
The items were found hidden in the shower doors (shared area), in Building "A", third floor, Sector 1.
It is suspected that these phones belonged to convicts with the initials FK, AP and VI.
Regarding the case, investigative work is continuing to fully identify the responsible persons and the manner in which the prohibited items were brought into the institution," the Prisons Directorate said in a statement.
