A person convicted of drug trafficking and participation in a criminal group has been arrested by the Elbasan Police during an operation codenamed "Target".
According to the police, Valmir Polisi, 37, who was wanted to serve the sentence handed down by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, was arrested.
The arrest was made after an operation organized by the operational services of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Special Force "Eagle". The police had obtained information about his location and intervened to capture the 37-year-old, who was hiding in a deep area in the village of Pishkash.
According to police sources, the wanted person attempted to leave as soon as he noticed the presence of officers, but was neutralized and arrested after the intervention of police forces.
The Special Court sentenced him to 9 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in Narcotics" and "Production and Sale of Narcotics", committed within the framework of a structured criminal group. Of this sentence, he has 4 years, 7 months and 18 days left to serve.
After arrest, the 37-year-old will be handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons for further proceedings and execution of the remainder of his sentence.
