Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that the police checks in the MEK camp and the members' denunciations of violence and victims and the denial by the officials is very serious.
In a media conference, Berisha said that the government should make public the agreement that has been set for the MEK group's stay in Manez, Durrës, where he added that the mujahedin are a front of resistance and yesterday's act by the police was ugly.
Furthermore, the former prime minister emphasized that there should be an international investigation regarding the tensions caused in the Iranian camp in Manza. He said that the perpetrators of the violence must be brought to justice.
"The mujahedin are the resistance front, they are a real political organization, they have their organization in Europe, Iran and beyond. Prominent US personalities who have visited have come as friends to a political organization, they deal with politics, but of course, what are the conditions that the government has set for them, they do not make public, they do not even publish the agreement. I know that the US umbrella has continued and the refugee organization has them under surveillance, they have fought with all the opportunities they had.
What happened yesterday was an ugly act, not that the government and authorities do not have the right to exercise control, but to rush in with thousands of police and kill another and say there are no victims, break your legs and hands and say there are none violence these are very serious. An international investigation is required, the UN has them under surveillance as they are refugees with a certain status. The perpetrators of violence must be brought to justice immediately, those who broke bones must face the law. The refugee camp that violates rights cannot be used," said Berisha.
