The member of the presidency of the DP, Gazmend Koduzi, has stated that the decision to convene the national council of the DP is in full accordance with the party's statute.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, Koduzi showed that despite the boycott of 17 members of the PD group announced by Gazment Bardhi, there are a significant number of members in the council. Furthermore, the member of the presidency informs that at tomorrow's meeting of the National Council, only one point will be discussed, which is the approval of the election commission, which opens the race for the head of the Democratic Party since it is the institution where candidacies are submitted and selected.
"DP is an institution and as long as certain friends obey the statute, the guardian of the statute is the assembly, the council and the presidency of the DP, others are implementers of the decisions that come from them. There is a point in the statute that says: the election commission is appointed by the presidency and approved by the council, we are implementing this point. Tomorrow the National Council meets only for one point; which is the approval of the electoral commission, which opens the race for the head of the DP since it is the institution where candidacies are submitted and selected. The statute wants more than 50 percent of the list of members to be present to make a quorum and hold the meeting, I think they will be. The council has a chairman, but the last chairman has left, tomorrow the meeting will be chaired by the oldest member of the council", said Koduzi.
