Prime Minister Edi Rama officially presented today the names of the new government cabinet, which will lead the country in his fourth mandate. The new composition featured returns, changes and some innovations, including the symbolic introduction for the first time of a member created by artificial intelligence.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", analyst Preç Zogaj described this as one of the most unbalanced governments Albania has ever had in representing its social, political, and institutional diversity.
" Since the Albanian state was created, governments have usually been composed respecting the diversity that characterizes our country - gender, regional, educational, or political representation. This government, for the first time, seems to have an unstable mix, dominated by the Prime Minister's personal will to 'smash' with extravagant names, who often do not have a political career or sufficient experience.
Many names in this cabinet have been selected without a clear political or meritocratic basis, seeing the ministerial position as a starting point, rather than as a finalization of a political career, as it should be.
"In any developed democracy, the post of minister usually crowns a career built on experience and public contribution. Rama has overturned this logic, promoting politically unknown names, some of whom it is not known where they ended up after their departure. Rama plays with the cards he has in his hand, he throws some away, he takes some back. There are promotions, there are internal rotations, but above all there is a form of extravagance that allows himself as Prime Minister to surprise - sometimes without calculating the political consequences ," said Zogaj.
