The Deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has stated that she cannot predict whose side will run in the 2025 elections, between Berisha or Basha.
Tabaku made the comments in "Euronews Albania", where she said that she continues to have the same attitude, that the DP should go united in the next elections, since according to her, this is the only way to defeat the socialist majority.
Excerpts from the studio conversation:
Question: Is Jorida Tabaku getting along well with her good mother-in-law, with her husband, with Saliu and Basha?
Tabaku: I am in the most difficult position of all. I worked with both. I have resigned from the position of deputy mayor, to show that there is nothing greater than the struggles of the DP. Bashe is sitting between me and Mr. Bardhi. I grew up in DP since I was a child. I took a position in the DP for the first time in August 2021. I fought battles regardless of any position. When a position in DP came for me, I considered it as an obligation and not as a privilege. We have all worked together to culminate in the 2021 campaign to make DP the winner. I have normal communication with Basha, although I haven't spoken for about a month.
Question: Who is Tabaku running with in 2025, with Berisha or Basha?
Tabaku: Tabaku has been saying for 2 years that DP should run together. Let's look at what makes us better, the pieces or a unified offer and I won't get tired of saying that PD should be one in the 2025 elections. I can't say we're good when we're not good. But we cannot predict the future. There is only one parliamentary group that meets, I don't know if there are meetings of two groups. I cannot judge my colleagues. My request has been that we should have a unique offer in Parliament. I supported Bardhi as group leader because the majority of the group did.
