"He is justifying police violence", Boçi: Koçi's

Democratic Party MP, Luciano Boçi, has reacted to statements made by Interior Minister Albana Koçiu, regarding the possibility of violent scenarios in the protest announced by the opposition.

In an interview with "News 24", Boçi described the minister's positions as contradictory and unclear.

According to him, Koçiu's statements are inconsistent, as on the one hand she states that she does not "take responsibility" for the protest, while on the other hand she warns of measures in case of acts of violence.

"I will not resolve the contradictions. Minister Koçiu is incomprehensible," said Boçi, adding that her statements constitute, according to him, a political language that aims to spread panic.

The Democratic MP accused the State Police of using disproportionate force during previous protests. He cited the use of tear gas, the arrest of minors, and violence against protesters and MPs, claiming that legal powers were exceeded.

"The police have behaved in a disproportionately brutal manner, exceeding their powers. It's not just the throwing of expired tear gas, but also the arrest of minors, their rape, the hitting of deputies, or even protesters. The gas cannot be thrown directly. It's sad to hear the minister. Usually, it's not the police who should deal with this," the deputy said.

Boçi also said that the use of gas should not be done directly on citizens, while describing the situation as worrying.
