The chairman of the Democratic Party of Lezha, Gjin Gjoni, and the chairman of the DP in Mirdita, Aleksandër Lala, have resigned, as they will be part of the primaries process.
Resignation is a statutory obligation of the DP for all party leaders who want to be measured in the primaries, and this is what the Lezha and Mirdita Democrat leaders have done.
The primary race causes the two leaders to leave the local leader's seat vacant.
It will be the DP leadership that is expected to command the new mayors in Lezha and Mirdita, who will have the weight of organizing the structures for the May 11 elections.
