Attorney Geoffrey Roberts stated that Rexhep Selimi is not responsible for any of the criminal offenses included in the indictment. He made this position at the beginning of the defense's closing statement.
Roberts argued that the Prosecution failed to present evidence to support the charges according to the legal standard.
According to him, the prosecution failed to fulfill its obligation to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The defense statement followed the closing presentation of Kadri Veseli's legal team, in the ongoing trial against former KLA leaders.
Today marks the fourth day of closing statements in the trial against former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, former Speakers of Parliament Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, and former MP Rexhep Selimi at the Special Court, based in The Hague.
