Sani Sanilevich, Albania's honorary consul in Israel and the person who published Netanyahu's 'pressures' on Edi Rama, is developing numerous investments in Albania. According to " TheMarker ", he is also working on the establishment of a hospital in the country. He is also behind Jet Bank and the company that will build the datacenter...
In late May, senior Hadassah Medical Center executives visited the South Sharon area in Israel for an event hosted by businessman Saniel (Sani) Sanilevich at his winery, “Sanilevich Winery.”
It was not the first time that Sanilevich had organized important events at this winery built on agricultural land. In February 2025, the annual event to promote tourism between Israel and Albania was held in the same venue.
The reason for the presence of Hadassah leaders was Sanilevich's recent appointment as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hadassah International Israel, the structure that deals with fundraising for the American Zionist organization Hadassah and for the medical center itself.
But according to the Israeli business newspaper TheMarker, Sanilevich's interests in the healthcare sector are not limited to philanthropy.
The newspaper reveals that he is currently collaborating with businesswoman Yordana Ovadia to set up a hospital in Albania.
This means that while collecting donations for Hadassah, Sanilevich could be simultaneously looking for investors for a private hospital project in Albania.
Ovadia has experience in this field. She has built two hospitals in Equatorial Guinea, among others. According to the report, she and Sanilevich have identified Albania as a country with great needs for investment in the health system, similar to several African countries where they have operated previously.
Who is Sani Sanilevich?
In Israel, Sanilevich owns shares in two popular bars in Tel Aviv and is a business partner of Tsahi Nahmias, one of the most powerful names in the Israeli economy.
His real estate development company and Nahmias' AFI Properties each own 50% of a large office project in Neve Ne'eman, worth about 600 million shekels.
However, Albania seems to have become one of his main centers of interests.
Relationship with Edi Rama
According to "TheMarker", it is no coincidence that Sanilevich and his partners have chosen Albania.
He holds the position of honorary consul of Albania in Israel and has established close relations with Prime Minister Edi Rama for about five years.
This very relationship was also mentioned in the investigation of the show "Uvda", broadcast last week in Israel.
According to the investigation, Edi Rama had complained to Sanilevich about the pressures that, according to him, Benjamin Netanyahu was exerting for the appointment of Nicole Raidman, a close friend of Sara Netanyahu, as Albania's honorary consul in Israel.
In the same investigation, audio recordings were also released in which Sanilevich himself, who was Netanyahu's media advisor about 17 years ago, is heard saying: " When I worked with Bibi, how did we bring everyone down? We built files on anyone who threatened us ."
He is currently no longer part of Netanyahu's inner circle, but according to the report he continues to have contacts with figures in the Likud Party.
Investments in tourism, real estate, banking and security
"TheMarker" writes that Sanilevich has already created an extensive investment portfolio in Albania.
He has investments in the real estate and tourism sectors, was one of the founders of a digital bank in Albania ( Jet Bank ) and is working on setting up data centers . So, two highly debated projects.
Over the last two years, he has also been involved in the security and defense sector in Albania, in collaboration with former Israeli general Giora Eiland.
Sanilevich and Eiland have also been engaged in the process that led to obtaining authorizations from Albanian and Israeli authorities for the launch of direct tourist flights between Tel Aviv and Tirana by the companies Sun D'Or and Israir.
The event held at his winery in February 2025 also celebrated the inauguration of Sun D'Or's direct flight line to Albania.
Comparison with Jared Kushner
According to the report, Sanilevich's activity in Albania resembles the plans of Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, who is promoting tourism projects worth about $1.4 billion in Albania.
The newspaper notes that Sanilevich appears to be aiming to invest in the same areas, although it adds that many of his ambitious projects have not yet fully materialized.
Sources who have collaborated with him describe him as "a good man with a heart of gold," but at the same time note that not all the big plans he announces end up turning into concrete projects.
Sanilevich declined to comment for the article.
While Hadassah Medical Center stated that he has been elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hadassah Israel and that his business activities are independent of the function he exercises in the organization. / Pamphlet
