The Central Election Commission has responded to MP Erion Braçe's request for information on his election results over the years.
Brace requested detailed data on the number of votes and percentages received in several election processes for the Assembly, including the period from 1996 to 2021, as well as the results of the Socialist Party in several subsequent elections.
The CEC explained that as an institution it was established in 2001 and has been managing data since that period onwards. For this reason, the information made available only includes elections from 2001 to 2021.
For the 1996 and 1997 elections, the CEC requested verification from the Central State Archive. This institution confirmed that it does not have this data and that the relevant documentation is administered by the archive of the Albanian Parliament.
The CEC has forwarded to the MP the materials it has for the period it covers, clarifying the boundaries of its institutional archive.

Dear Sirs,
In response to your letter with no. 709 prot., dated 26.03.2026, through which you request detailed information on the number of votes and the percentage of the result of the deputy Mr. Erion Braçe for the elections for the Assembly of 1996, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2021, as well as the number of votes and the percentage of the result of the Socialist Party of Albania for the elections for the Assembly of 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021, we inform you that:
The Central Election Commission, as the body responsible for the organization, administration and supervision of electoral processes, is a public institution established in 2001, and consequently the information administered dates from this period onwards.
Regarding the results of the 1996 and 1997 parliamentary elections, we officially contacted the Central State Archives, which, after verifying that these data or documents are not found in their archive, confirmed that the information on the election results for these two years is administered in the archive of the Albanian Parliament.
Regarding the above, please find attached the requested information, for the period from 2001 to 2021.
