"They remind me of Maks Velo's investigators", Rama accuses SPAK

Prime Minister Rama has not spared criticism of the justice system, including SPAK and GJKKO.

In his speech to members of the Socialist Party National Assembly, Edi Rama did not spare criticism of the justice system, including SPAK and GJKKO.

Regarding the latter, he said that the Special Prosecution Office has remained a tool, while regarding the prosecution body, he expressed his revolt over the way various cases are handled and investigated.

The Prime Minister also said that the intimidation of free people by justice officials reminds investigators of Max Velos.

"We have not wavered on this path, we will not waver even today, despite the facts that, in addition to indisputable achievements, the new power of justice occasionally shows signs of the old disease. The new power of justice still has in its ranks, up and down, throughout Albania, prosecutors and judges who are short-sighted, narrow-minded and lacking in integrity, who turn white into black, while the independent governance of the system reacts as if it were asleep on its feet. Recent cases, when some prosecutors and judges have violated the law by supporting its implementers.

The great truth is that neither SPAKU, the only pride of justice reform, nor the Special Court, which is not emerging from the shadow of SPAK, is an exception. Even these institutions have given us reason to be surprised and very seriously concerned, the disregard for the presumption of innocence, the intimidation of persons at large, the release of investigative data in order to predetermine the fate of the investigated persons in bargaining" , said Rama.
