Massimiliano Allegri is very close to returning to the bench and his next destination is expected to be Napoli. Just a few days after leaving Milan, the Italian coach has reached an agreement with the Neapolitan club to take charge of the team next season.
According to reports by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, negotiations between Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and Allegri have intensified significantly over the last 24 hours, leading the parties towards a final agreement.
Allegri is expected to succeed Antonio Conte, who left Napoli of his own free will, even though he still had one year left on his contract with the club.
However, before it can be made official, there is still one more procedure to be completed. The coach must first formally terminate his existing contract with Milan, and then an official statement from both clubs is expected.
Italian media report that Allegri has accepted De Laurentiis' offer, who after Conte's departure was looking for an experienced and big-name coach to continue the Napoli project.
According to the agreement, Allegri will sign a contract until the summer of 2028. He is expected to earn around 5 million euros per season, while the agreement also provides for additional bonuses.
With the move to Napoli, Allegri also returns to the Champions League, a competition where Milan failed to qualify last season.
